PerinClinical was a specialist Contract Research Organization (CRO) founded in 2002 by Dr. Nermeen Varawalla to facilitate clinical trials in India for global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Headquartered in London with operations in major Indian cities like Mumbai and Bangalore, the company was a pioneer in navigating the Indian regulatory landscape and establishing clinical trial site networks. In March 2004, PerinClinical was acquired by PRA International (now part of ICON plc) in a multi-million dollar asset sale, enabling PRA to establish its initial footprint and operational capabilities in the Indian market. The company played a key role in the early growth of the Indian clinical research industry by bridging the gap between international standards and local execution.
