Permeon Biologics

Permeon Biologics was a private biopharmaceutical company focused on enabling intracellular biologics against targets that had historically been difficult or impossible to drug. Its core approach was the Intraphilin Technology Platform, a Harvard University-licensed technology designed to remodel protein surfaces so therapeutic proteins could penetrate cells without losing structure or activity. The company positioned this as a way to create a new class of intracellular protein therapeutics, including penetration-enhanced targeting proteins and related biologic constructs. Permeon was founded in 2011 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was backed by venture investors including Flagship Pioneering. The company appears to have remained at the preclinical/platform stage and ceased operations in 2015.
