Pharmacontrol Corporation was a pioneering contract research organization (CRO) that provided clinical testing and regulatory consulting services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Founded in 1971 by Dr. Solomon Margolin, the company specialized in managing Phase I-IV clinical trials and providing bioanalytical laboratory services. It was a key player in the early outsourcing market, helping drug developers navigate FDA requirements and accelerate product development. In 1991, the company was acquired by Applied Bioscience International in a transaction valued at approximately 45 million USD. Following the acquisition, its operations were integrated into Pharmaco LSR, which later became a major global CRO.
