PharmaKD was a specialized contract research organization (CRO) based in Woburn, Massachusetts, that focused on mass spectrometry-driven biomarker discovery and drug metabolite identification. Established in 2004, the company utilized proprietary informatics and its signature MarkerScan platform to provide qualitative insights into drug behavior, helping pharmaceutical and biotechnology sponsors optimize pharmacokinetics and safety profiles. PharmaKD's expertise in identifying potential biomarkers and metabolites aimed to reduce the complexity and time required for drug development. In September 2006, the company was acquired by Tandem Labs, a move that expanded Tandem's discovery-phase services and established its New England operations. Following Tandem Labs' acquisition by LabCorp in 2008, PharmaKD's capabilities were integrated into LabCorp's broader bioanalytical service offerings.
