Pharmasone LLC was a specialty pharmaceutical company primarily focused on the development and commercialization of animal health products. The company achieved a significant milestone with the FDA approval of ZoaShield 25% (zoalene), the first generic version of the medicated feed article Zoamix, used for the prevention and control of coccidiosis in poultry. Following the successful approval and launch of its lead product, Pharmasone transferred its ownership and all related interests in the ZoaShield program to Elanco Animal Health in early 2021. The company's operations were centered on identifying and developing de-risked generic alternatives for essential veterinary medicines.
