Company intelligence / Profile preview
Pharmexa was a Danish biotechnology company specializing in the development of therapeutic vaccines for cancer, chronic diseases, and infectious diseases. The company's core technology, the AutoVac platform, was designed to bypass the immune system's self-tolerance to generate antibodies against the body's own proteins involved in disease. Its lead programs included GV1001, a telomerase-targeting vaccine for pancreatic cancer, and HER-2 AutoVac for breast cancer. In 2009, Pharmexa underwent a reverse merger with the Norwegian antibody company Affitech, subsequently changing its name to Affitech A/S. The company was a pioneer in the field of active immunotherapy before its integration into Affitech.
