Pheronym

Pheronym has developed a patented technology using water-soluble pheromones to direct the behavior of microscopic roundworms called nematodes. Their lead products—Nemastim™ and PheroCoat™—are designed to improve crop protection by either enhancing the effectiveness of beneficial nematodes against insect pests or repelling plant-parasitic nematodes from crops. Greenhouse demonstrations are ongoing, with partnerships under negotiation for broader commercialization. The company has received grants including from the NSF and has conducted research with NASA on the International Space Station to further develop their eco-friendly pest control solutions. No clinical results apply as this company operates in agricultural biotechnology rather than human therapeutics.
