Company intelligence / Profile preview
Phoenix Cardiac Devices has developed the BACE (“basal annuloplasty of the cardia externally”) device, a novel minimally invasive implant for treating functional mitral regurgitation. The BACE device sits outside and around the heart, avoiding open-heart surgery and direct blood contact. Clinical data supporting CE Mark approval demonstrated significant reduction in MR grade and left ventricular size sustained out to at least 24 months. Over 60 patients have been implanted with the first recipient reaching a ten-year follow-up milestone[4][9]. The company seeks further clinical studies for additional indications such as heart failure.
