Phoenix PharmaLabs is developing non-addictive pain therapies. Their lead compound PPL-138 has shown 100X potency of morphine with low risk of abuse/addiction and no respiratory depression in preclinical studies. Their second compound PPL-103 has demonstrated 10X potency of morphine, non-addictive properties, no withdrawal symptoms, no death from overdose (even at 350x the analgesic dose), and no constipation in animal studies. The company is completing final pre-clinical studies to seek IND approval from the FDA to initiate human clinical trials.
