Physicians United Plan (PUP) was a Florida-based health maintenance organization (HMO) that specialized in providing Medicare Advantage plans to seniors. Founded in 2005, the company grew to serve approximately 35,000 members across multiple Florida counties, offering coordinated care through a network of primary care physicians and specialists. The company focused on a physician-led model of care management to improve health outcomes for the elderly population. However, following significant financial instability, the company was placed into liquidation by the Florida Department of Financial Services in June 2014, and its operations were ceased.
