Company intelligence / Profile preview
Physiome Sciences was a pioneer in computational biology and "in silico" drug discovery, specializing in the creation of virtual biological models. The company developed the "In Silico Cell" platform, which simulated complex biological systems from the molecular level to the whole organ to predict drug efficacy and toxicity. By integrating genomic, proteomic, and physiological data, Physiome aimed to streamline the drug discovery process for pharmaceutical partners. The company's technology was notably applied to cardiovascular research and G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) modeling. Physiome Sciences was acquired by Predix Pharmaceuticals in 2003, which subsequently merged into Epix Pharmaceuticals.
