Physiometrix

Physiometrix was a medical technology company that developed and manufactured non-invasive medical devices for monitoring the effects of anesthesia and sedation on the brain. The company's flagship product, the Patient State Analyzer (PSA) 4000, utilized proprietary signal processing algorithms and EEG sensors to provide clinicians with a real-time index of a patient's anesthetic depth. Physiometrix also developed the HydroDot line of disposable EEG sensors, designed for rapid and easy application in clinical settings. The company was acquired by Hospira in 2005 to enhance their medication delivery and patient monitoring portfolio. Hospira was subsequently acquired by Pfizer in 2015, making Pfizer the ultimate successor to the Physiometrix technology.
