Phytotec

Phytotec was a Belgian biotechnology company specializing in plant-based technologies, particularly phytoremediation and the production of high-value compounds through plant tissue culture. A spin-off from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), the company focused on using plants to remove pollutants from soil and water, as well as developing botanical extracts for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Despite its innovative approach to environmental and life science challenges, the company is no longer active. Its legacy remains tied to early European efforts in commercializing phytotechnology and plant-derived secondary metabolites.
