Company intelligence / Profile preview
Phytotherm Sim was a Brazilian manufacturing company primarily known for producing dietary supplements marketed for weight loss, such as Emagrece Sim (the Brazilian Diet Pill) and Herbathin. In 2006, the company became the focus of international regulatory scrutiny when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Health Canada issued warnings after discovering its products were adulterated with undeclared prescription drugs. These substances included fluoxetine, chlordiazepoxide, and the unapproved stimulant fenproporex, which posed significant health risks including addiction and dangerous drug interactions. Consequently, the company's products were banned from several markets and placed on permanent import alerts. Phytotherm Sim operated facilities in Contagem, Brazil, and maintained a distribution presence in Miami, Florida.
