PlaCor

PlaCor was a medical device company that developed point-of-care diagnostic systems for assessing platelet function in cardiovascular patients. Its primary technology, the Platelet Reactivity Test (PRT), was designed to help physicians monitor the effectiveness of antiplatelet therapies such as aspirin and P2Y12 inhibitors. The device provided rapid, bedside results by measuring the time required for a blood sample to occlude a microscopic aperture under high-shear conditions, simulating physiological environments. Although the company received FDA 510(k) clearance for its core technology and secured significant venture capital, it is currently considered inactive.
