Platinum Partners Credit Opportunities Master Fund was a flagship hedge fund managed by the New York-based investment firm Platinum Partners. The fund specialized in providing high-interest bridge loans and asset-based financing to distressed or early-stage companies, with a significant concentration in the healthcare, life sciences, and energy sectors. In 2016, the fund became the center of a federal investigation that led to charges of a $1 billion securities fraud, which prosecutors described as a Ponzi-like scheme involving the overvaluation of illiquid assets. Following the arrest of its leadership, the fund was placed into a court-ordered receivership and is currently undergoing liquidation.
