Company intelligence / Profile preview
Pleural Dynamics has developed and received FDA 510(k) clearance for the ACES™ Automatic Continuous Effusion Shunt System, a fully implantable device that uses normal breathing motion to continuously transfer excess fluid from the chest to the abdomen for natural reabsorption. The system is designed to reduce infection risk and healthcare costs compared to current standard-of-care options like indwelling catheters or pleurodesis. Early clinical use has shown effective reduction of effusion volume (up to 94%) and improved patient quality of life. The company is currently conducting a post-market clinical study at select US sites as part of its commercial launch.
