Company intelligence / Profile preview
Polus BioPharm is a South Korean biotechnology company that specialized in the development of biosimilar products using microbial fermentation technology. Founded with the goal of producing affordable biologics, the company focused on high-demand treatments such as insulin glargine, somatropin, and ranibizumab. Polus BioPharm invested heavily in a large-scale manufacturing facility in Hwaseong to support its global commercialization strategy. However, the company encountered significant liquidity issues and failed to secure necessary funding, resulting in its delisting from the Korea Exchange in 2021. Its operations have largely ceased following these severe financial difficulties.
