Præhospitalet

Præhospitalet is the specialized emergency medical services (EMS) organization for the Central Denmark Region (Region Midtjylland). It manages the entire pre-hospital chain, including the 1-1-2 emergency dispatch center, ambulance services, and emergency medical cars staffed by doctors and paramedics. The organization is responsible for ensuring that citizens receive immediate, high-quality medical assistance before reaching the hospital. In addition to ground transport, Præhospitalet coordinates the regional participation in the national Danish Air Ambulance program. It also focuses on research and development within emergency medicine to improve patient outcomes in acute situations such as cardiac arrest and trauma.
