Company intelligence / Profile preview
Prevail Therapeutics is a neuroscience-focused biotechnology company developing adeno-associated virus gene therapies for genetically defined neurodegenerative diseases. The company was founded in 2017 in New York and built a pipeline centered on disease-modifying treatments for Parkinson's disease with GBA1 mutations, neuronopathic Gaucher disease, and frontotemporal dementia with GRN mutations. Its lead clinical assets included PR001 and PR006, with additional preclinical programs such as PR004 and earlier discovery efforts in synucleinopathies, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and ALS. Prevail was publicly listed on Nasdaq under the ticker PRVL before agreeing to be acquired by Eli Lilly in December 2020. The acquisition closed in January 2021, and Prevail now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly focused on AAV-based gene therapy for neurodegenerative disorders.
