Prima Wawona

Prima Wawona was a large California-based fresh produce company focused on growing, packing, and marketing stone fruit including peaches, plums, and nectarines. The business was created through the merger of Gerawan Farming and Wawona Packing, with backing from Paine Schwartz Partners, and operated substantial farming and packing assets in California's San Joaquin Valley. It sold conventional and organic fruit under brands including Prima and Wawona and was positioned as a leading stone-fruit supplier. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2023 and subsequently moved to liquidate its assets in 2024, laying off thousands of workers.
