Company intelligence / Profile preview
Primera Bioscience, operating primarily as PrimeraDX, was a molecular diagnostics company that developed the ICEPlex system, a multimodal platform combining quantitative PCR and fragment analysis. The company's proprietary Specific Target Amplification Reaction (STAR) technology enabled high-order multiplexing, allowing for the simultaneous detection and quantification of dozens of DNA and RNA targets in a single sample. This technology was designed to streamline clinical laboratory workflows and support the development of complex companion diagnostics. In May 2014, the company was acquired by QIAGEN to strengthen its portfolio in middle-throughput molecular testing and clinical research.
