ProCeller System

ProCeller was a Swedish biotechnology company that specialized in the development of automated cell culture systems for the life science and pharmaceutical industries. The company's flagship product, the ProCeller system, was a closed, automated platform designed for the large-scale expansion of adherent cells, particularly for use in cell therapy manufacturing. By providing a controlled environment that minimized manual handling and contamination risks, the system aimed to standardize cell production and improve the scalability of regenerative medicine. ProCeller was a spin-off from the Karolinska Institute and was acquired by GE Healthcare in 2006 to strengthen its cell therapy and bioprocessing portfolio. The technology was subsequently integrated into GE Healthcare Life Sciences, which is now part of Cytiva.
