Company intelligence / Profile preview
ProCorde was a German biotechnology company focused on the development of novel therapeutics for cardiovascular diseases, particularly thrombosis and atherosclerosis. The company's core technology centered on the inhibition of collagen-induced platelet aggregation, leading to the development of its lead candidate, Revacept. Revacept is a recombinant soluble Glycoprotein VI (GPVI-Fc) fusion protein designed to prevent blood clot formation at the site of vascular injury without increasing bleeding risk. The company was founded as a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich by a team of clinicians and scientists. ProCorde was acquired by Trigen AG in 2004 to consolidate their cardiovascular pipelines and leverage ProCorde's expertise in platelet physiology. Following subsequent corporate restructuring, the technology and lead assets were transitioned to advanceCOR GmbH, which continued the clinical development of the pipeline.
