Procyrion

The Aortix device has demonstrated fluid loss and improvements in kidney and heart function in early clinical studies. The pivotal DRAIN-HF trial for patients with acute decompensated heart failure who remain congested despite standard therapy began enrolling late November 2023, targeting over 260 participants. Results from an earlier cohort of 18 patients showed positive outcomes at the one-month mark post-treatment. The pivotal trial compares Aortix therapy to high-dose diuretics alone and includes a registry for end-stage patients not eligible for transplant or LVAD due to poor kidney function. Study completion expected by end of 2025.
