Based in Temecula, California, the company specialized in custom procedure trays (CPTs) and high-volume medical-surgical products for hospitals and surgery centers. Founded in 1981, PHS grew to become a major regional player, particularly in the western United States, known for its high-touch service model and efficient logistics. In 2014, the company was acquired by Medline Industries, which integrated PHS's operations to enhance its own distribution network and clinical solution offerings. At the time of its acquisition, PHS generated over $1 billion in annual revenue and employed approximately 1,500 people.
