The company's flagship product, the D-Stat, was a thrombin-based hemostatic device designed to rapidly stop bleeding at femoral artery access sites following catheterization procedures such as angioplasty. In 1998, the company was acquired by United States Surgical Corporation for approximately $50 million, and its core technology was later integrated into the portfolios of Tyco Healthcare and eventually Vascular Solutions.
