Prometic Bioproduction is a specialized biotechnology manufacturing organization focused on the development and production of plasma-derived therapeutics. Originally a subsidiary of Prometic Life Sciences (now Liminal BioSciences), the company utilizes its proprietary Plasma Protein Purification System (PPPS) to isolate and purify high-value proteins from human plasma. Its primary commercial product is Ryplazim (plasminogen, human-tvmh), the first FDA-approved treatment for congenital plasminogen deficiency. In 2021, the facility and the associated plasma-derived therapeutics business were acquired by Kedrion Biopharma, integrating the site into a global network focused on rare disease treatments.
