Prometic Pharma SMT was the small molecule therapeutics division of Prometic Life Sciences (now Liminal BioSciences), focusing on the development of orally active drugs for inflammatory, fibrotic, and metabolic diseases. The company's lead candidate, fezagepras (PBI-4050), was designed to target multiple pathways involved in fibrosis and inflammation by modulating G-protein coupled receptors. Following a major corporate restructuring in 2019, Prometic Life Sciences rebranded as Liminal BioSciences, and the small molecule assets were eventually deprioritized or divested. The company's primary focus shifted toward its plasma-derived therapeutics before the entire organization was taken private by Structured Alpha LP in 2023.
