Prometic Plasma Resources

Prometic Plasma Resources was a Prometic/Liminal BioSciences-owned plasma collection business focused on sourcing human plasma for the manufacture of plasma-derived therapeutics. It operated collection centers in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Amherst, New York, supporting the plasma supply chain rather than developing a broad internal drug pipeline. In 2021, Liminal BioSciences divested Prometic Plasma Resources and Prometic Plasma Resources (USA) to Kedrion, and in early 2022 the Winnipeg donation center was subsequently acquired by Grifols. The Prometic Plasma Resources brand has since been phased out, with the Winnipeg operation rebranded under Grifols Plasma Canada. The entity is therefore best understood as a historical plasma collection company rather than a currently independent operating biotech developer.
