Overview
Protalix has commercialized two enzyme replacement therapies for rare diseases—Elelyso®/Uplyso® for Gaucher disease and Elfabrio® for Fabry disease. Elelyso was the first FDA-approved protein produced in a plant cell-based system. Elfabrio received FDA and EMA approval in May 2023. The company’s pipeline includes PRX–115, a PEGylated uricase for uncontrolled gout that completed a first-in-human study with plans to enter Phase II trials, and PRX–119, a long acting DNase I targeting NETs-related diseases[5][6].
