ProteinSimple was a US-based biotechnology company specializing in the development of proprietary automated systems and consumables for protein analysis. Its innovative platforms such as Simple Western™, Maurice™, and Ella™ transformed traditional western blotting, capillary electrophoresis immunoassays, and ELISA workflows by automating processes that were previously labor-intensive. In August 2014, ProteinSimple was acquired by Bio-Techne Corporation for $300 million USD. Since then it has operated as a brand/division within Bio-Techne’s extensive life science reagents/instrumentation business serving academic researchers as well as biopharma R&D globally.
