Company intelligence / Profile preview
Proteome Systems was a pioneering Australian biotechnology company focused on the field of proteomics and high-throughput protein analysis. Established in 1999, the company developed the ProteomIQ platform, an integrated suite of technologies designed to automate protein discovery and characterization. The firm initially operated as a technology and instrument provider, forming significant partnerships with global entities like Shimadzu and Sigma-Aldrich. Later, it shifted its strategic focus toward the development of point-of-care diagnostic tests for infectious diseases and agricultural applications. In 2008, the company changed its name to Tyrian Diagnostics to better align with its clinical diagnostic goals. Despite its early leadership in protein science, the company faced financial difficulties and was eventually delisted from the Australian Securities Exchange in 2012.
