Puerto Rico Community Network for Clinical Research on AIDS

The Puerto Rico Community Network for Clinical Research on AIDS (PRCONA) is a non-profit clinical research organization based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Established in 1991, the organization specializes in conducting Phase 1 through Phase 4 clinical trials focusing on HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and other infectious diseases. PRCONA serves as a primary site for the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) and the International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials (IMPAACT) network, supported by the National Institutes of Health. The network provides the Puerto Rican population with access to cutting-edge investigational therapies and contributes significant data to global health research. In addition to therapeutic trials, PRCONA is involved in community outreach, education, and prevention programs.
