Company intelligence / Profile preview
Pyramis Global Advisors was an institutional asset management firm and a subsidiary of Fidelity Investments, established in 2005 to provide investment solutions to institutional clients such as pension funds, endowments, and foundations. Headquartered in Smithfield, Rhode Island, the firm managed a wide array of strategies across equities, fixed income, and alternatives, with a significant focus on the healthcare and life sciences sectors. Pyramis was well-known in the biotech industry as a major institutional investor, and several of its former healthcare portfolio managers, such as Owen Hughes, have gone on to lead prominent biotechnology companies like Cullinan Oncology and Ikena Oncology. In 2015, Fidelity rebranded the unit as Fidelity Institutional Asset Management (FIAM) as part of a strategic effort to consolidate its institutional and intermediary businesses.
