Company intelligence / Profile preview
QT Imaging has developed and commercialized the FDA-cleared Breast Acoustic CT™ System ("QTscan"), which uses low-frequency soundwaves to generate high-resolution, radiation-free, compression-free three-dimensional images of the breast. The system provides improved comfort and safety compared to traditional mammography and offers particular advantages for women with dense breasts. It has received over $15 million in NIH funding and Breakthrough Device designation from the FDA. The technology enables quantitative measurement of fibroglandular volume as a surrogate for breast density and aims to reduce unnecessary recalls/biopsies by improving diagnostic clarity. Research efforts are ongoing to expand applications beyond the breast.
