Quantomix

Quantomix was an Israeli life sciences company that developed the WET-SEM technology, enabling the imaging of wet samples in their native state using standard scanning electron microscopes (SEM). The company's primary product line consisted of QX capsules, which featured a thin, electron-transparent membrane that protected liquid samples from the microscope's vacuum while allowing electron beam penetration. This innovation bypassed the need for traditional, time-consuming sample preparation methods like dehydration, critical point drying, or metal coating. Quantomix's solutions were applied across various fields, including cell biology, histology, and industrial fluid analysis. The technology allowed researchers to observe cells and tissues with high resolution while maintaining their original hydration and structure. Although the company is no longer active, its WET-SEM platform represented a significant advancement in electron microscopy for biological applications.
