Overview
Quantum Genomics developed firibastat (QGC001), a first-in-class brain aminopeptidase A inhibitor for treatment-resistant hypertension. Early-phase trials showed some efficacy in lowering blood pressure in specific patient populations. However, pivotal Phase 3 trials failed to demonstrate efficacy over placebo. As a result, all cardiology development was discontinued by late 2022. The company lacks advanced follow-up assets and has effectively ceased major R&D operations.
