Their most notable medical contribution was the development of the Ferritometer, a non-invasive device used to measure liver iron concentration in patients with iron overload disorders. This technology offered a painless and accurate alternative to traditional liver biopsies for patients with thalassemia and hemochromatosis. The company was acquired by InVision Technologies in 2003, which was subsequently acquired by GE in 2004. Its innovations laid the groundwork for modern high-sensitivity magnetic diagnostics in clinical settings.
