Quasar Telemedicina is a Brazilian healthtech company specializing in digital health solutions and telemedicine software. The company is best known for developing Glic (formerly Glic-OnLine), a comprehensive diabetes management platform that connects patients, physicians, and health providers. Glic offers features such as blood glucose tracking, carbohydrate counting, and insulin calculation algorithms to improve daily routines for diabetic patients. Founded in 2004 and incubated at the University of São Paulo's Cietec, the company became a reference in the Brazilian telemedicine sector. In May 2022, Quasar Telemedicina was acquired by Afya Limited, the largest medical education group in Brazil, for an enterprise value of R$ 22 million. The acquisition integrated Quasar's technology into Afya's digital ecosystem, focusing on the physician-patient relationship pillar.
