Raichem Medicare is a specialized pharmaceutical manufacturer based in India, primarily focused on the production of high-quality Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and intermediates. Established in 2009 as a joint venture between Shilpa Medicare and the Italian company Industria Chimica Emiliana (ICE), it has become a global leader in the production of Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA). The company operates a state-of-the-art, US FDA-approved manufacturing facility in Raichur, Karnataka, which supports the synthesis and purification of complex bile acid derivatives. Following its full acquisition by ICE Pharma (backed by Advent International) between 2018 and 2020, Raichem Medicare serves as a critical production hub for the global supply of bile-based therapies.
