Rainier Therapeutics (formerly BioClin Therapeutics) was a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing targeted therapies for patients with metastatic urothelial carcinoma (mUC) and other diseases driven by FGFR3 mutations. The company's lead product candidate was vofatamab (formerly B-701), a potentially first-in-class monoclonal antibody designed to selectively inhibit FGFR3. Rainier conducted several clinical trials, including the FIERCE-21 and FIERCE-22 studies, evaluating vofatamab as a monotherapy and in combination with the checkpoint inhibitor pembrolizumab. Despite advancing its lead program into Phase 2, the company ceased operations around 2020, and its assets were subsequently discontinued or transitioned. Rainier was backed by a prominent group of life science investors, including Orbimed, HBM Healthcare Investments, and aMoon.
