Receptos

Receptos was a San Diego-based biopharmaceutical company specializing in the discovery and development of small molecule therapeutics for immune-inflammatory diseases. The company utilized a proprietary G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) structure-based drug design platform to develop its pipeline. Its most significant achievement was the development of ozanimod (now marketed as Zeposia), a selective S1P1 and S1P5 receptor modulator approved for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis and ulcerative colitis. In 2015, Receptos was acquired by Celgene for approximately $7.2 billion to bolster Celgene's inflammation and immunology portfolio. Following the subsequent acquisition of Celgene by Bristol Myers Squibb in 2019, Receptos' assets and technologies were integrated into the Bristol Myers Squibb organization.
