Red Tree Venture Capital

Red Tree Venture Capital is an active California-based venture capital firm founded in 2020 by experienced industry veterans from Stanford University circles. It has raised $272 million for its inaugural fund, which closed in October 2022, and invested in at least 10–15 early-stage life science/biotech companies. The firm primarily targets innovative therapeutics addressing significant unmet needs in oncology (~50%+ of current portfolio), neurology, and immunology, as well as select medical device opportunities. Red Tree leverages deep relationships with West Coast academic institutions such as Stanford, UCSF, and UCLA to source innovation and for scientific diligence/advisory support. As of mid-2025, the fund supports more than ten high-potential startups, some of which have already advanced into later funding rounds.
