Redox Pharmaceutical Corporation was a New York-based biotechnology company focused on developing a new class of site-specific transcription inhibitors for the treatment of cancer and viral diseases. The company's lead candidate, Terameprocol (M4N), was a small molecule derivative of nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA) designed to target the Sp1 transcription factor. By inhibiting Sp1-dependent promoters, the therapy aimed to suppress the expression of critical genes like survivin and c-myc that drive tumor progression. Although the company successfully advanced its lead program into Phase 2 clinical trials for high-grade gliomas, it eventually ceased operations and was dissolved in 2011. Its core technology was later associated with Erimos Pharmaceuticals for further development.
