Overview
Refuge Biotechnologies was developing intelligent CAR-T cell therapies using a proprietary receptor-dCas platform that leverages CRISPR activation (CRISPRa) and CRISPR interference (CRISPRi) to conditionally regulate gene expression. The company's lead program RB-1916 was a CAR-T therapy designed to inhibit PD-1 expression for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. In October 2022, Kite (Gilead) entered an exclusive worldwide license agreement for Refuge's platform for blood cancers, while Refuge retained rights for solid tumor indications.
