RegeneMed was a biotechnology company focused on the development of three-dimensional (3D) human tissue models for drug discovery and regenerative medicine. Utilizing a proprietary scaffold-based technology, the company created functional human tissues, including liver and bone marrow, that mimicked the in vivo environment more effectively than standard 2D cultures. These models were designed to provide pharmaceutical researchers with high-fidelity tools for predicting drug toxicity and efficacy, potentially reducing the cost and time associated with drug development. The company was founded by Dr. Gail Naughton, a pioneer in tissue engineering, and operated out of San Diego, California. Although it is no longer active, RegeneMed's work contributed significantly to the advancement of 3D cell culture and organ-on-a-chip technologies.
