Region Hovedstadens Apotek

Region Hovedstadens Apotek is Denmark’s largest hospital pharmacy. It produces and supplies medicines to hospitals and institutions in the Capital Region of Denmark, the Greenlandic healthcare system, and other Danish hospital pharmacies. The organization employs over 650 staff across various professional groups including pharmacists, laboratory technicians, academics, assistants, porters, and technicians. It collaborates with Amgros for pharmaceutical procurement for all five Danish regions. While not primarily engaged in proprietary drug development or biotech R&D pipelines like pharma/biotech companies, it does participate in clinical trials as an institutional partner or site sponsor. Example clinical trial involvement includes Phase 2 studies such as testing R3R01 for diabetic kidney disease.
