Reid-Provident Laboratories was a small entrepreneurial pharmaceutical company based in Atlanta, Georgia. It specialized in ethical pharmaceutical preparations for conditions such as hypertension and peptic ulcers. In the mid-1980s, it merged with Rowell Laboratories to form Reid-Rowell, Inc., which became publicly traded on NASDAQ. The combined entity was later acquired by Solvay & Cie of Belgium and ultimately became part of Solvay Pharmaceuticals before being absorbed into Abbott Laboratories[1][2][3].
