Rejuvenon

Rejuvenon was a biopharmaceutical company based in The Woodlands, Texas, that specialized in developing therapies for age-related conditions such as sarcopenia and frailty. Founded in 1999, the company focused on the development of growth hormone secretagogues to restore growth hormone levels in elderly populations. Its lead candidate, RJ-1012 (ibutamoren mesylate), was a small molecule licensed from Merck that reached Phase 2 clinical trials for indications including hip fracture recovery and muscle wasting. Although the company is no longer active, its research contributed significantly to the understanding of the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR) and its potential in treating metabolic and geriatric disorders. The rights to its primary asset eventually returned to Merck and were subsequently licensed to other developers like Lumos Pharma.
